Where I've been

So I haven't visited you in awhile, and it's not for lack of new revelations and thoughts to share. I've just been busy training for a half marathon which I will run this coming Sunday in downtown Atlanta. Lately, instead of writing, my spare time has been spent running...and running further than I've ever run in my life.

Now why am I doing this? For a couple of reasons--first for the obvious physical benefits -- it was kinda a new year's resolution. I'd done a 10k a couple years back, but not a half yet. The other, and main, reason is that my church led us to do this to raise money ($500 each) and awareness to fight the evil of sex trafficking in our city. Atlanta is pretty high up there among cities where this issue is extremely prevalent and even a multi-million dollar industry. Children are kidnapped and sold into this industry by the thousands every year. What can we do about this overwhelming issue? Well, there are a few ministries in this area that are helping fight this cause. One is Wellspring, which is a ministry that helps support women coming out of this industry start to rebuild their lives. We are giving a hefty portion of what we raise to this ministry. The rest will be given to the church to support the community outreach ministry that help raise awareness about this issue in our city.

Anyway, that's where I've been. If you feel led to give and support me in this run, click here and click on the donate page. Thanks for reading...and I promise, I'll post my thoughts more regularly again soon!
